​Set in an abstract future post-apocalyptic setting, “One-Way Home” centers around a solitary human coming to terms with her own mortality. A plastic landscape, the man-made detritus of thousands of years of civilization, surrounds and threatens to engulf her. As she lives out her final days, she recalls and reconstructs her worldly existence through a cathartic movement practice that triggers personal memories of loss, profound joy, heartbreak, anger, ennui, and bliss. Monologues, both verbal and physical, happen spontaneously within her trash-laden environment. While she physicalizes and releases her stored personal memories, the audience is invited to process their own individual and collective histories as they bear witness to her catharsis. 
“One-Way Home” is a reflection on mortality and a testament to the abiding nature of art and the art-making process.
